By Camille Wilson · Updated September 20, 2022

The annual ESSENCE Fashion House recently returned during New York Fashion Week to the Walker Hotel in Tribeca, NY, as a location to educate their audience on the industry and to celebrate Black creatives from all backgrounds. Franchelli Rodriguez, aka @chelliscurls, shared her GRWM (Get Ready With Me”> on TikTok featuring a nostalgic curly style before heading out to the Fashion House dinner with NaturallyCurly.

“NaturallyCurly just brings back so many memories to my transitioning days,” Rodriguez says in the clip. “That was like my Google. If it was on NaturallyCurly, then I knew that I was good. Ingredients were good to go. I am so happy to have had resources and inspo to follow.”

The style she created here was everywhere in the ‘90’s and 2000’s. How could we forget—it was the ultimate cool girl look.To reproduce this classic curly hairstyle, Francelli is using Creme of Nature’s Shine and Hold Control Glue and the Dippity-Do Girls With Curls Gel. Follow along as she creates flat twists the front of her hair and diffuses the rest.

@chelliscurls GRWM and come with me to the @essence Fashion house dinner!! It took me years to finally embrace my naturally curly hair and throughout that journey, I am so happy to have had resources and inspo to follow like @naturallycurly. Thanks for inviting me out & all your help throughout my hair journey? I did this super easy and fun hairstyle for tonight’s event, I’m ready to have fun ?? #naturallycurly #essencefashionhouse #curlyhair #curls #grwm #ootd #curvytiktok #nyfashionweek #curlyhairtutorial #curlyhairstyle #fyp #foryou #tutorial ♬ original sound – chelliscurls
