Curlfest is hands down the go-to natural hair festival to attend. This year Curly Girl Collective moved Curlfest from Brooklyn’s epic Prospect Park to Randall’s Island, which proved to be an epic location to hold 2019’s event. Curlfest has been deemed the world’s largest natural beauty festival that celebrates natural hair. It is so amazing to see so many come together to have fun and celebrate! This year was no different as there was just a sea of beautiful hair in the crowd. If you have never been to Curlfest you have to make sure you attend. You won’t be disappointed.
This year may have been Curlfest’s biggest turnout yet. There were amazing vendors, food trucks, activations, contests, and empowerment panels. The VIP area was filled with hammocks and bean bag chairs and even games for attendees to play. There was something for everyone.
But the style and hairstyles is what really stands out at Curlfest. The festival goers really showcase their individual style. The hairstyles and outfits did not disappoint this year! Curlfest 2019 was one for the books. From twist outs, protective styles, afro puffs, and tapered fros, and hair accessories, the natural hair game was popping.
