Oh the joys of summer: warm air, summer dresses and–frizz. Yes.

I fight my frizzies the most in the summer because the humidity just won’t let my curls be great. However, I have a few tried and true products that are sure to beat the clamminess and control my summer frizz.

Whether it is a wash-n-go, a twist-out or a sleek bun, I have been using this product for 2 years and it has yet to fail me. Ouidad Wave Create Texture Taffy

This is one of my recent loves. Ouidad Texture Taffy is sure to be a new staple in my summer hair routine. There are times where I like to take a break from the use of gels, pomades, and go for something that is light yet has real frizz control. This product is great for slicking down edges and sides to create intricate styles like a frohawk. It don’t worry about the stick texture, once it dries it will leave my hair smooth and soft.

tgin Butter Crème Daily Moisturizer

I just started getting into using this line of products but I am so impressed by the results of their butter crème; I didn’t expect the product to be so moisturizing. Natural butters–shea and cocoa–and oils like vitamin E and coconut are the key ingredients for making it such a rich and creamy texture. The moisturizer provides me with endless moisture and curl definition.

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie

One of my first natural hair holy grails, SheaMoisture’s Curl Enhancing Smoothies is a top moisturizer for those with thick, oftentimes dry and frizzy hair. This smoothie is a great styler for soft yet defined twist-outs or braid-outs. This moisturizer works well to control frizz because it contains a special ingredient, neem oil, known to relieve a dry, itchy scalp, combat frizz and add shine.

Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Refresher Spray

When my curls are looking a bit dry and I have no time to redo an entire hair wash and style, I simply reach for my Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Refresher Spray. I have been using this product for a year and always noticed a major boost in my curls, not to mention amazing slip and ultimate control of the summer frizzies. It’s super light so I won’t have to worry about it being too heavy or creating a sticky film.
