I needed to give my hair a break–I was literally burning my hair off. The heat damage was unbearable and my curls just weren’t how they used to be. I wanted to embrace what I was born with and in a way, be myself.
My curly inspirations
I used to always straighten my hair in college, my best friend at the time had curly hair and she convinced me to wear it naturally, part of the reason why I never used to wear it curly was because I never knew what to do to it to keep it maintained. She showed me a couple of products to use and I just found myself wanting to know more so I went on YouTube and searched other Youtubers with curly hair, it opened up my eyes to a lot of things I used to do wrong, and helped me create my own curly routine.
I have raved about SheaMoisture products on my channel way too much.
Omg where do I start, I have a lot of products that am into at the moment. I have raved about SheaMoisture products on my channel way too much because they just do incredible things to my fro! I am also in love with Giovanni Direct Leave-in Weightless Moisture Conditioner, it leaves my hair we’ll moisturised but not weighed down. As well as Organix Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream which keeps my curls defined and less frizzy.
As , Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is lovely on the skin, it’s become a fast favourite because it looks like you’re wearing nothing but makes your skin look flawless.
[prodmod]How my YouTube channel is different
I noticed that there wasn’t many people on youtube with my hair type and I decided to share what worked with my curls to help. I never thought that I’d get that many views at all. To be honest, I do not know what separates me from other YouTube channels but I do know that I made it to encourage people to embrace themselves and their curls and that I really enjoy doing it!
Dealing with online trolls
I have learned to ignore them and to carry on focusing on my own goals. It’s easier to do that in real life than online because with online it’s everywhere, but now I’ve realised that focusing on the positive comments rather than the negatives helps me deal with them a lot better. I do take the negative comments on board to improve myself though as Youtube is still pretty new to me.
In the next 5 years…
Hopefully the main things would be just happy, healthy and in love, I guess. Career-wise I hope to be a fashion journalist after finishing my masters. I don’t think I’ll stop YouTube, either… I love doing it so much I just find it therapeutic, fun and apart of something special.
