Although it may not be cherished as much in the United States as in other countries throughout the world, many American musicians and artists performed at the kick-off concert on Thursday. One of these artists was Alicia Keys, who looked very pretty in black pants and a loose-fitting black and white shirt. Her long, brown curls looked stunning as she performed on the concert stage in Soweto, South Africa. Another performer was Angélique Kidjo, a Grammy-award winning singer from Benin, West Africa—here she sports a teeny weeny blonde afro which frames her face ever so nicely. It’s great to see that natural hair is a universal concept that can span across many different countries and continents. Colombian singer Shakira also looks gorgeous with her long, blond waves while performing.
The concert will air today (Friday, June 11, 2010″> on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/PT and 7 p.m. CST.
